Monotonous Days

Say Monotonous Days! Ouch, the title sounds like a torture, but, never a torture for these 4 young women from Asia.

KUALA LUMPUR

I'm Grace, working in a camera shop in one of the biggest malls in KL. The other day I met a girl name Cindy. She asked whether I study in college like her. I said I am working in this shop to earn money, so I can go to college. Cindy said she studies at night and works in the office in the daytime. I don't think I want to rush like her.

HONGKONG

I'm Lynn, a researcher. Today is just like the other day, cooking, working and waiting for my hubby. My hubby is a police officer, so I always prepare his meals daily, and I do enjoy cooking for my husband. Today I BBMing my Indonesian friend. I met this girl when I was on holiday with the other researchers in Bali. She was enjoying her lunch alone in our hotel beach club. I started a conversation with her, practicing my English. I remember that day she drove me around Seminyak and back to Kuta. She is in the real estate business but working in other field too, sounds too busy and complicated, but she seemed like she enjoyed it. Her name is Cindy.

BALI

I'm Ayu, working in a hotel restaurant. The other day, I got a shift in our outdoor café near the beach club. I met this young woman, Cindy from Jakarta. She said she was celebrating something and always comes to our outdoor café every time she wins something. Looks like she enjoys her work. She asked me if working in a five-star hotel in Jakarta ever came to my mind? I said never! I like hotels in Bali. I like the happy faces, the beach, sunrise and sunset. Big cities are not for me.

TANGERANG

My name is Cindy, a homemaker. I do enjoy writing a journal, and recently I have been blogging. However, my son is my priority. My hubby works overseas, so I just cherish my time with my son. I live a monotonous life and I keep telling myself how lucky I was and am still lucky. Once in a while, I call a taxi to Jakarta, the capital city. Sometimes the driver asks whether I am heading to work. I said no, I'm with my son. We're not going to work. I'm a homemaker and a good consumer, so we are heading to the mall in Jakarta. Maybe I just felt a little offended, but I love this quote,

"Even when your life seems most monotonous, what you do is always of real value and importance to your fellow men."

Adventure with God

To the mountain, where I can find the fire hole To the valley, where I can look for the water stream To the city, where I can find an exciting job To the cave, where I can find the bats To the grave, where I can find reality To the highway, where I can feel the velocity To the lake, where I can enjoy silence To the big river, where I can feel the danger To the deep blue sea, where I can see the other creatures I am going on an adventure with God.

'Oat' and 'Out'

"Son, if the oats finish, we may need to go out!" Said a young mother to her little boy. How do you perceive this line, a sad line? Supposing it is a sad line, yes, they need to go out! Even if it is a happy line, they still need to go out. "Mom, let's go out and pick strawberries instead! The boy responded cheerfully. I learned something from children way of thinking, that we can count on their big picture thinking in hard times or dilemma. Photo source: Unsplash (Photographer: No-Revisions)

X'mas Self Esteem

Photo Source: Pixabay (Photographer: Sidra Iftikhar) Merry I live in the capital city and don't have a boyfriend. My parents live in another city. I always spend my Christmas days in a boarding house. Thank God I have a few friends who want to join me at church.  Happy I study at college at night and work in the daytime, don't have a boyfriend, my parents have just divorced, and my mom always makes us spend Christmas holiday in a hotel in town. This is how we survive Christmas. Joy I work a full-time job as a waitress in a Chinese Restaurant. I spend my Christmas in a restaurant. I volunteer to work on holiday, because my family is not in this country. My fiancé can not come to see me. The Christmas ornaments are the only festive thing that makes me feel like Christmas day.
