Christmas: Coca Cola Gangs

How many of you have strong childhood X'mas memories with Coca-Cola? I do have scenes that I would share with you.

I remember my Christmastime in my hometown as a child. The children will walk around the neighborhood and visit friends' houses or any houses that signaling they have an open house. With open doors, loud X'mas songs and the welcome shiny ornament hanging on the top of the front doors signaling that the house is welcoming the children to eat cookies and drink soft drinks like Coca-Cola and Orange Juice.

On December 25th each year in Maumbi Indah, my friends and I always walked in teams, or gang up with the kids we know from our school or Sunday School. But we can always easily switch teams and gang up with new friends as we please. The mission was to find a house that served Coca-Cola for children. Yes, so we hunted Coca-Cola.

At noon, we were already bloated with orange juice because most of the houses served orange juice for kids and kept the Coca-Cola for adult guests. But sometimes we get lucky if one or two houses serve Coca Cola for children. Before sunset, we gather around the corner of the street and these little Coca-Cola gangs ask each other, where and which houses serve Coca-Cola? Because we want to end our searching with one last scene, which is drinking Coca-Cola.

We were relentless Coca-Cola Gangsta.

Adventure with God

To the mountain, where I can find the fire hole To the valley, where I can look for the water stream To the city, where I can find an exciting job To the cave, where I can find the bats To the grave, where I can find reality To the highway, where I can feel the velocity To the lake, where I can enjoy silence To the big river, where I can feel the danger To the deep blue sea, where I can see the other creatures I am going on an adventure with God.

'Oat' and 'Out'

"Son, if the oats finish, we may need to go out!" Said a young mother to her little boy. How do you perceive this line, a sad line? Supposing it is a sad line, yes, they need to go out! Even if it is a happy line, they still need to go out. "Mom, let's go out and pick strawberries instead! The boy responded cheerfully. I learned something from children way of thinking, that we can count on their big picture thinking in hard times or dilemma. Photo source: Unsplash (Photographer: No-Revisions)

X'mas Self Esteem

Photo Source: Pixabay (Photographer: Sidra Iftikhar) Merry I live in the capital city and don't have a boyfriend. My parents live in another city. I always spend my Christmas days in a boarding house. Thank God I have a few friends who want to join me at church.  Happy I study at college at night and work in the daytime, don't have a boyfriend, my parents have just divorced, and my mom always makes us spend Christmas holiday in a hotel in town. This is how we survive Christmas. Joy I work a full-time job as a waitress in a Chinese Restaurant. I spend my Christmas in a restaurant. I volunteer to work on holiday, because my family is not in this country. My fiancé can not come to see me. The Christmas ornaments are the only festive thing that makes me feel like Christmas day.
