Bonnie Loves The Sea

" My Bonnie lies over the ocean, my bonnie ..." I can recall my grandma taught me this Scottish traditional folk song and all together with this powerful song,

"We shall overcome, we shall overcome, we shall overcome someday, O deep in my heart I do believe we shall overcome someday."

These songs were my lullabies when I was 4 years old.

I remember in 2020, most sailors were sent home from overseas during the pandemic period, while my hubby experienced the lockdown phase in the country where he works as a sailor. So I started to sing Joan Baez's song to calm my nerves of worrying about the virus and the future. One day in 2020, my hubby called to inform me about the situation. Soon I knew that he appeared to be one of the lucky sailors who can stay working and keep their job. As we hoped for the same thing, hoped for a miracle, our wish was granted by God and we overcame the situation. I felt reluctant to sing the first song during the pandemic, simply because I think Bonnie loves the sea.

Adventure with God

Photo Source: Pixabay (Photographer: Natalia Kollegova) The Angel asked, "where are you going?" To the mountain, where I can find the fire hole To the valley, where I can look for the water stream To the city, where I can find an exciting job To the cave, where I can find the bats To the grave, where I can find reality To the highway, where I can feel the velocity To the lake, where I can enjoy silence To the big river, where I can feel the danger To the deep blue sea, where I can see the other creatures I am going on an adventure with God.

'Oat' and 'Out'

"Son, if the oats finish, we may need to go out!" Said a young mother to her little boy. How do you perceive this line, a sad line? Supposing it is a sad line, yes, they need to go out! Even if it is a happy line, they still need to go out. "Mom, let's go out and pick strawberries instead! The boy responded cheerfully. I learned something from children way of thinking, that we can count on their big picture thinking in hard times or dilemma. Photo source: Unsplash (Photographer: No-Revisions)

X'mas Self Esteem

Photo Source: Pixabay (Photographer: Sidra Iftikhar) Merry I live in the capital city and don't have a boyfriend. My parents live in another city. I always spend my Christmas days in a boarding house. Thank God I have a few friends who want to join me at church.  Happy I study at college at night and work in the daytime, don't have a boyfriend, my parents have just divorced, and my mom always makes us spend Christmas holiday in a hotel in town. This is how we survive Christmas. Joy I work a full-time job as a waitress in a Chinese Restaurant. I spend my Christmas in a restaurant. I volunteer to work on holiday, because my family is not in this country. My fiancĂ© can not come to see me. The Christmas ornaments are the only festive thing that makes me feel like Christmas day.
